Makkah: The Roads General Authority (RGA) announced that more than 2.79 million vehicles crossed roads leading to the Grand Mosque from the 1st to the 28th of Ramadan, as part of its operational readiness and technical preparations to ensure safe and smooth access for worshippers. This aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 targets of reaching 30 million Umrah performers by 2030.
According to Saudi Press Agency, RGA stated that average daily traffic during this period reached around 106,000 vehicles, peaking at around 126,000 on Thursday, the 16th of Ramadan. The authority attributed the smooth traffic flow to early preparations that included surveying more than 16,000 kilometers of road network in Makkah and Madinah regions and roads leading to the two holy mosques.
