Riyadh: AlUla is set to welcome athletes, wellness seekers, and adventure enthusiasts to its stunning landscapes as registration opens for the AlUla 24 Hour Endurance Race and the AlUla Half Marathon, both key highlights of this year’s AlUla Wellness Festival. Taking place from October 31 to November 1, the AlUla 24 Hour Endurance Race returns to challenge athletes, combining physical stamina and mental strength with breathtaking natural backdrops.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the event will take place at the Mughayra Heritage Sports Village, with participants running around the 8.7 km camel track road. Individuals or teams of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 can participate. The winners in each category will be those who complete the most laps in the 24-hour time period. On-site camping facilities are available to book, with showers, toilets, and food and beverage provision. The Race Village alongside the track will have entertainment, DJs, and a large scoreboard to keep track of everyone competing. The event is ideal for all abilities and those wishing to have team-building exercises with friends and colleagues.
For runners seeking a rewarding yet accessible challenge, the AlUla Half Marathon will take place on October 25 and offers a scenic course of various distances through some of AlUla’s most famous landscapes, including the iconic Elephant Rock. The race is open to both men and women, with age categories and five different course lengths to suit all participants-from elite athletes to families.
The 21.1 km Half Marathon is the premier event for experienced runners, while the 10 km course offers a challenging mid-distance race open to all. The 5 km circuit is ideal for recreational runners and those building experience, and the 3 km and 1.5 km distances are for younger athletes and families. Both races are part of the AlUla Wellness Festival, which celebrates and promotes health, balance, and holistic living in harmony with AlUla’s serene nature.
The festival features a dynamic program of wellness activities, including yoga, meditation, Cycling Ride with the Pros camp, adventure sports, and hiking.
