Riyadh: Red Sea Labs, one of the Red Sea Film Foundation’s programs, has announced the selected teams for the third edition of the SeriesLab program, held in strategic partnership with the nonprofit arts organization ‘Film Independent’. This collaboration aims to foster creative independence in television storytelling through a comprehensive and inspiring educational framework.
According to Saudi Press Agency, SeriesLab is an intensive training program focused on cultivating the talents of 16 emerging TV content creators and writers. The virtual/in-person residency provides a dynamic and supportive environment for scriptwriting development, offering guidance and training from professional television writers, showrunners, and industry experts to help participants successfully complete and pitch their television series pilot by the end of the program.
The selected teams for the third edition of SeriesLab include: Team Malpractice from Egypt; Team Mad Bounty and the Midnight Gun from Uganda; Team Till Death Do Us Part from Nigeria; Team Money Town from Kenya; Team Society from India; Team Flyweights from Kazakhstan; Team Flash from Korea; and Team D©rift from Saudi Arabia.
The release added that the training program features an exclusive two-week trip to Los Angeles, where participants will attend intensive workshops and participate in the Film Independent Forum. This distinguished event aims to empower filmmakers to tell compelling stories by providing them with the tools and industry connections needed to bring their projects to life.
The third edition of the SeriesLab program is scheduled to begin in April 2025 and conclude in late December 2025, coinciding with the fifth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival. The selected projects will have the opportunity to pitch their series at the Red Sea Souk.
