Riyadh: A notable astronomical scene was observed this morning in the sky over Rafha Governorate in Northern Borders Region, featuring the Pleiades star cluster, the Hyades star cluster, the planet Mars, and the star Capella.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Member of the AFAQ Society for Astronomy Burjis Al-Faleeh described how the scene brought together several prominent celestial objects and astronomical features that can be observed with the naked eye during the summer when skies are clear. He explained that the Pleiades is one of the best-known open star clusters and is located in the constellation Taurus. This cluster is easily identifiable due to its concentration of bright stars.

He highlighted that the Hyades is the closest open star cluster to the Earth, appearing as a broad stellar grouping near the Pleiades. Mars, with its reddish hue, stood out as one of the most distinctive planets for visual observation during favorable periods of visibility. Capella, one of the bright stars in the constellation Auriga, is often used by astronomy enthusiasts to identify the locations of constellations during observation nights.
