Riyadh: Qassim University, represented by the College of Arts and Design, is set to organize a pivotal conference titled ‘Handicrafts in the Era of Digital Transformation: Opportunities and Challenges.’ Scheduled to take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 23-24, 2025, the event will be held at the King Abdulaziz Conference Center on the university campus. This conference coincides with the Year of Handicrafts 2025.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the conference will be conducted under the patronage of the President of Qassim University, Dr. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharekh. It will feature a series of scientific sessions that address various themes, such as the intersection of handicrafts and artificial intelligence, the application of modern technology to enhance production and quality, and the development of small and medium enterprises aimed at achieving sustainable development. The sessions will also cover digital marketing strategies for handicrafts and the critical role of business incubators in supporting artisans.
In addition to the sessions, the conference will offer a series of practical workshops. These workshops will focus on enhancing handicraft skills and strategies for preserving traditional professions in the context of digital transformation.
