Riyadh: The Qassim Municipality, represented by the Al-Bukayriyah Municipality, has completed an extensive project to upgrade parks, recreational areas, and public spaces, aiming to improve quality of life and create attractive, safe environments for recreation during the summer vacation season.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the comprehensive preparations involved the development of 32 parks and recreational areas alongside 48 public squares, encompassing a vast area of over 2.8 million square meters. The initiative also included the enhancement of pedestrian walkways and running tracks spanning 36,000 meters, equipping 35 sports fields and 80 children's playgrounds, and maintaining more than 600,000 square meters of green spaces. These efforts are part of ongoing urban landscape improvements designed to boost public services and promote recreational and sporting activities.
Further enhancements by the municipality included bolstering irrigation, maintenance, and cleaning operations, preparing 35 public restrooms, maintaining and operating 1,129 lighting poles, and continuing the care for 1,400 palm trees and over 60,000 trees within parks and recreational areas.
