Promoting, Protecting Children’s Rights Contributes to Safe and Stable Environment, NSHR President Says.

Riyadh: National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) President Khalid bin Abdurrahman Al-Fakhri said that promoting and protecting children’s rights contributes to providing a safe and stable environment, enhances their mental and physical health, and reduces stress and anxiety resulting from neglect or abuse. It also contributes to social cohesion by reducing violence and crime associated with children’s neglect.

According to Saudi Press Agency, in a statement issued on the occasion of World Children’s Day, which falls on November 20 each year, Al-Fakhri said that raising awareness of children’s rights helps individuals understand such rights, detect any violations against children, and work to address them quickly. It also helps to highlight negative practices that all those who interact with children should be wary of. In addition, he shed light on the importance of the family’s role in controlling cyber risks that may affect children’s mental health.

He noted that the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 reflects the grea
t attention that the Kingdom pays to human rights through efforts to promote and consolidate them, and by implementing measures to protect them.
