President of Gambia Receives Special Envoy of OIC Secretary General for Africa

Jeddah-- President of the Republic of The Gambia Adama Barrow received the Special Envoy of the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Africa Nassirou Bako Arrifari, on May 29, 2022.

The Special Envoy conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, to the Gambian President on the occasion of his re-election, praising the efforts exerted by his government to achieve development, peace and stability in the country.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the multiple challenges facing the West African region, including those related to the political transition in the Republic of Mali, Burkina Faso and the Republic of Guinea, as well as stressing the importance of concerted efforts, cooperation and encouragement of dialogue in order to find acceptable solutions to these issues.
