Peaks of Shafa Taif Host Third, Final Round of Hill Climb Championship

The peaks of Aqabat Al-Muhammadiyah in the Sarawat Mountains today hosts the third and final round of the Hill Climb Championship in Taif Governorate in a three-day event that is part of the 2024 Saudi Toyota Championship, organized and supervised by the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation in cooperation with the Ministry of Sport and Taif Governorate.

Tourism and entertainment enthusiasts in Taif are eagerly awaiting this major sports car competition, which promises excitement, thrill, and enjoyment in the Aqabat Al-Muhammadiyah area of Shafa. The area is known as one of the most prominent winding tourist routes, surrounded by breathtaking nature. More than 90 elite drivers from the Kingdom and the region are participating to compete on a 4.2-kilometer track that features 30 turns, starting from an altitude of 1,900 meters and ending at the finish line at 2,150 meters above sea level over the span of three days.

The first day of the round includes registration, administrative checks, and technical
inspection of the participating vehicles. On Friday, three rounds of free practice sessions will be held, each lasting up to two hours, giving the drivers an invaluable opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Aqabat Al-Muhammadiyah track and its turns. The excitement will ramp up with the start of the final round on Saturday. The first race begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m., followed by the second race from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This final round is expected to heighten the competitive atmosphere among the drivers as they vie for the championship title in the beautiful surroundings of Taif and watched by fans and enthusiasts of motorsport racing.
