Jazan: Jazan Region's exceptional natural and climatic diversity has created a fertile agricultural environment that supports a wide range of crops, enhancing its standing as one of the Kingdom's most important agricultural areas and contributing to production sustainability. According to Saudi Press Agency, papaya cultivation in Jazan stands out as a successful model of tropical crops that have proven their ability to adapt to the local environment. Benefiting from the suitable climate and fertile soil, papaya has spread and grown widely, making it a promising addition to the region's fruit sector. Jazan farms have witnessed significant expansion in papaya cultivation in recent years, with the region now home to more than 800,000 papaya trees and annual production exceeding 40,000 tons, reflecting the growing importance of this crop within the local agricultural system. Papaya production in Jazan embodies a rising trend toward diversifying the agricultural base and maximizing natural resource use, strengt hening agricultural sustainability and improving local output efficiency, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 targets for agricultural development and food security.
