Benefiting from the suitable climate and fertile soil, papaya has spread and grown widely, making it a promising addition to the region's fruit sector. Jazan farms have witnessed significant expansion in papaya cultivation in recent years, with the region now home to more than 800,000 papaya trees and annual production exceeding 40,000 tons, reflecting the growing importance of this crop within the local agricultural system. Papaya production in Jazan embodies a rising trend toward diversifying the agricultural base and maximizing natural resource use, strengt hening agricultural sustainability and improving local output efficiency, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 targets for agricultural development and food security.
