Over 52 Million Visit Two Holy Mosques in Safar 1447 AH

Makkah: The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque announced that the number of Umrah performers and visitors to the Two Holy Mosques during the month of Safar 1447 AH reached 52,823,962.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Grand Mosque welcomed 21,421,118 visitors, including 51,104 who prayed at Hijr Ismail (Al-Hateem). The count of Umrah performers at this mosque reached 7,537,002.

The Prophet’s Mosque saw 20,621,745 visitors during the same period, with 1,188,386 individuals praying in Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifa. Additionally, 2,004,608 visitors offered greetings to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his two Companions.

The presidency highlighted its use of advanced technology, employing sensor readers at the main entrances of both mosques to accurately monitor visitor numbers. This technology enhances operational efficiency by tracking crowd flow and aids authorities in managing the visitor influx as part of a partnership with relevant entities.
