Over 3.5 Million Attend Global Harmony 2 Expat Initiative in Riyadh

Riyadh: The Ministry of Media concluded the second edition of the Global Harmony 2 initiative aimed at enhancing engagement with expatriate communities. The cultural initiative drew more than 3.5 million visitors, including citizens and residents of various nationalities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative was organized in cooperation with the General Entertainment Authority and the Quality of Life Program. It commenced in early November at Al-Suwadi Park, a venue of Riyadh Season, and spanned 49 days, highlighting 14 cultures from India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt, among others. The event offered a cultural experience reflecting the diversity of the expatriate community and the richness of its heritage.

Global Harmony 2 featured a range of cultural activities such as musical concerts, roving performances, and family-oriented cultural and entertainment shows, alongside traditional foods and handicrafts. The event saw participation from citizens and residents and extensive coverage by media outlets from the participating countries.

The initiative showcased residents’ professional and family journeys, social and recreational activities, and their contributions to the national economy. It also highlighted success stories and the richness and diversity of their cultures.

Over 100 artists and creatives from around the world took part, presenting more than 1,200 musical and cultural performances. Around 3,500 folk performers participated in specialized traditional and folkloric shows.

Additionally, over 400 exhibitors specializing in traditional clothing, handicrafts, fine arts, and accessories participated, offering interactive experiences that attracted visitors of all age groups.

Ministers, officials, and ambassadors from the represented countries participated in the events, appreciating the initiative and its positive messages. They noted it reflects Saudi Arabia’s position as a global destination for cultural openness and coexistence.

Global Harmony 2 received extensive global media coverage, with more than 5,000 journalists and media professionals reporting daily, conveying the initiative’s cultural message worldwide.

Many visitors shared their happiness with the experience, saying it provided a genuine window into diverse cultures in a festive atmosphere that fostered harmony and reinforced the Kingdom’s image as a global model for cultural diversity and coexistence.

More than 3,000 Saudi men and women were involved in organizing the events, contributing to achieving the initiative’s objectives.
