Over 14 Million Visitors Flock to Prophet’s Mosque During Ramadan

Medina: The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has released a statistical report detailing the services provided to visitors of the Prophet’s Mosque during the first half of Ramadan 1446 AH.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the report indicated that the Prophet’s Mosque welcomed over 14 million worshippers. Among these, 1,217,143 visitors performed greetings upon the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his two companions. Additionally, permits were issued for 223,742 men and 155,630 women to pray in the Holy Rawdah.

The report also highlighted the distribution of more than 4.5 million Iftar meals to mosque visitors and the consumption of 3,650 tons of Zamzam water. In maintaining hygiene, 422 samples of Zamzam water were tested and analyzed, while over 81,000 liters of disinfectants and sanitizers were used.

Visitor engagement statistics showed that over 18,000 people visited the exhibits and museums at the Prophet’s Mosque. Moreover, library services benefited more than 51,000 individuals, and scholarly lessons attracted approximately 84,000 attendees.

In terms of accessibility, the authority facilitated wheelchair transport for over 250,000 visitors, provided 50,000 chairs for the elderly, and loaned mobility carts to more than 20,000 visitors. The parking occupancy rate was reported at 95%.

Guidance services were also robust, with 47,761 visitors receiving spatial orientation assistance, 45,000 individuals obtaining religious guidance, and 22,000 visitors engaging in multilingual on-site communication. The mosque’s prayer hall occupancy was noted at 93% inside the mosque, over 80% in the external courtyards, and 33% on the mosque’s roof.

The report further noted the participation of 22,589 volunteers in assisting visitors. The authority also distributed 600,000 gifts to mosque visitors and conducted over 50 media reports to document and share these updates.
