A total of 133,459 lighting units have been installed throughout the mosque, including in its interior, ceilings, and walls. These units feature a variety of designs and styles that complement the unique architectural character of the Prophet’s Mosque. The system comprises 30 types of harmoniously designed lighting units in varying sizes, creating a distinctive atmosphere that enhances the mosque’s architectural quality and ensures uniform lighting throughout the mosque, its courtyards, and minarets.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the General Authority for the Care of the Prophet’s Mosque noted that the lighting efforts include the installation of 307 large chandeliers in the old structure and the Saudi expansions. These chandeliers were installed in a geometrically aligned manner to match their architectural surroundings while ensuring the safety of worshippers and visitors. Also, 8,000 lighting units have been installed in a gilded design on all the mosque’s columns, reflecting the precision and harmony of the lighting system and spreading illumination around the mosque.

Lighting efforts also include 11,000 ceiling-mounted units featuring the name of Allah, extending across the new expansions. These units are designed with uniform lighting colors to highlight the architectural details of the mosque while creating a visually comfortable environment for worshippers.
