OSBU Calls for Unified Media, Political Efforts to Support the Palestinian Cause

Riyadh: The OIC States Broadcasting Union (OSBU), chaired by Dr. Amr El-Leithy, condemned the recent statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing them as containing false justifications for aggression against the Palestinian people.

According to Saudi Press Agency, OSBU said that the remarks represent an attempt to mislead international public opinion and to justify systematic crimes against the Palestinian people, including killings, displacement, and the targeting of defenseless civilians, all in blatant violation of international and humanitarian laws.

It added that the statements are a continuation of the occupation’s longstanding approach of distorting facts and misleading the truth, especially as media and human rights reports increasingly expose the severity of the humanitarian crisis facing the Palestinian people.

The union called on various international media outlets to assume their ethical and professional responsibilities by adhering to humanitarian principles that demand an end to the bloodshed and the lifting of injustice from the Palestinian people.

OSBU emphasized that this critical phase demands concerted media and political efforts to counter the hate speech and incitement propagated by occupation leaders, and to defend the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
