Oman Signs Participation Contract for Expo 2030 Riyadh

Riyadh: The Sultanate of Oman has signed its Participation Contract with Expo 2030 Riyadh, formally confirming its presence at the World Expo, set to be hosted from 1 October 2030 to 31 March 2031.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the agreement marks the beginning of the next phase of Oman's preparations for Expo 2030 Riyadh, facilitating the development of its pavilion and organizing its involvement throughout the event. The Participation Contract was signed at the Expo 2030 Riyadh site by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture and Commissioner General of the Sultanate of Oman Pavilion, Sayyid Saeed Sultan Al Busaidi, and Chief Executive Officer of Expo 2030 Riyadh, Talal Al-Marri.

Following the signing ceremony, attendees were given a tour of the Expo site, where development works are advancing, including a visit to the plot designated for the Sultanate of Oman Pavilion.

Sayyid Saeed Sultan Al Busaidi commented on the occasion, stating that the signing represents an important milestone in Oman's preparations for Expo 2030 Riyadh and underscores the historic ties and cooperation between Oman and Saudi Arabia. He expressed anticipation for Oman's participation, which aims to present its heritage, culture, and achievements.

Expo 2030 Riyadh CEO Talal Al-Marri noted that Oman's commitment adds to the growing momentum of international participation in Expo 2030 Riyadh, highlighting the global nature of the event. He expressed eagerness to collaborate with the Omani team to bring their vision to life and share Oman's perspectives and ambitions with an international audience.

Oman's participation agreement follows those signed by France and Bahrain, indicating strong early momentum in international preparations for Expo 2030 Riyadh. The early formalization of participation, more than four years ahead of the Expo's opening, marks an unprecedented pace in World Expo history.

International participation is central to Expo 2030 Riyadh's aim to function as a platform for action. Under the theme 'Foresight for Tomorrow,' the event will unite nations and organizations to explore shared challenges and opportunities, exchange knowledge, and forge new partnerships. This collaboration aims to inspire new thinking and accelerate progress towards a better future.

Overall, Expo 2030 Riyadh is expected to bring together 197 Official Participants and welcome 42 million visits.
