Olympic Council of Asia Recognizes Int’l Camel Racing Federation as Asia’s Official Governing Body

Harbin: The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has officially accredited the International Camel Racing Federation (ICRF) as the recognized governing body for managing Asian camel racing. The decision was made during the OCA’s executive meeting on February 6 in Harbin, China, followed by the signing of the agreement on February 9, 2025.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz, President of the ICRF, emphasized that the accreditation marks a significant milestone in elevating camel racing on the global sports stage. He noted that this recognition underscores the federation’s commitment to developing the sport in line with the highest international standards and strengthening its position in the global sporting landscape.

As part of its efforts to enhance competitiveness and expand participation, the ICRF aims to launch unified international championships, increase media exposure, and provide greater opportunities for athletes. These initiatives will contribute to cementing camel racing’s status as a professional sport aligned with international standards.
