Jeddah: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) today welcomed San Marino’s decision to recognize the State of Palestine, describing it as a step that reflects the growing international consensus on the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the OIC reiterated its call on countries that have not yet recognized Palestine to do so and to support its full membership in the United Nations. The OIC stressed that such measures are essential to ending the occupation, implementing the two-state solution, and achieving justice, peace, and stability in the region.
