Jeddah: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held the Preparatory Senior Officials Meeting for the 51st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers today at its headquarters in Jeddah.
According to Saudi Press Agency, in a speech at the opening session, OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha emphasized the challenges faced by the organization, particularly the Palestinian cause, which is being exacerbated by the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the rest of the Palestinian territories. He stressed the need to continue efforts to end the aggression and achieve an independent Palestinian state.
He highlighted that the organization, in cooperation with its international partners, continues to support efforts to combat terrorism and extremism while encouraging interfaith dialogue. Additionally, it calls for greater solidarity with the Sahel and Lake Chad region to support efforts aimed at establishing peace, security, stability, and development.
