Amman: The Eighth Islamic Conference of Health Ministers wrapped up in Amman with the active participation of health ministers, heads of delegations, and representatives from international organizations and OIC institutions.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the conference culminated in the issuance of the ‘Amman Declaration.’ This declaration underscores the commitment of OIC member states to enhance cooperation and joint efforts to achieve health security and guarantee equitable access to healthcare services.
The declaration highlighted the significance of supporting local production of medicines, vaccines, and diagnostics. It also emphasized expanding cooperation in technology transfer and pooled procurement among member states. These initiatives are intended to ensure the timely, affordable, and sustainable availability of essential medical supplies across the OIC region.
