Riyadh: The 7th annual Global Occupational Safety and Health Conference (GOSH7) concluded this evening in Riyadh, following three days of discussions under the theme ‘The Future of Occupational Safety and Health.’ Organized by the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health (NCOSH), the conference was held under the patronage of Minister of Human Resources and Social Development and NCOSH Chairman Ahmed Al-Rajhi.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the event brought together officials, specialists, and international experts for engaging discussions on the present and future of occupational safety and health. Participants exchanged knowledge, reviewed best practices, and explored the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to advance workplace safety.

Such efforts span legislative, regulatory, and operational initiatives aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. An accompanying exhibition highlighted the historical evolution of the occupational safety and health sector, as well as NCOSH’s role in enhancing workplace safety and supporting the appeal of the Saudi labor market.

The conference concluded with a series of recommendations, including encouraging the development and adoption of innovative technologies to mitigate the effects of climate change, particularly heat stress, in work environments. Participants called for the publication of the scientific content presented during the conference, including sessions, presentations, and workshops, on the NCOSH and conference websites to ensure accessibility for stakeholders and professionals. Additionally, the conference emphasized the need to incorporate occupational safety and health policies for workers in the digital economy, freelance sectors, and mobile labor to ensure inclusive legal protection.
