NCVC Signs MoUs with Eight Non-Profit Associations to Support Environmental Sustainability Efforts

Riyadh: The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) has signed memoranda of understanding with several non-profit environmental associations, as part of efforts to strengthen partnerships with the non-profit sector as an active partner in advancing national targets for vegetation cover development and environmental sustainability.

According to Saudi Press Agency, cooperation with the non-profit sector enhances the effectiveness of volunteer and community initiatives and maximizes environmental and social impact across Saudi Arabia. This forms part of a broader cooperation framework spanning several areas, including implementing afforestation and degraded-land rehabilitation projects, supporting nature-based destination tourism, exchanging expertise, strengthening capacities through training, and raising community environmental awareness.

The MoUs were signed with eight associations: Al-Nakaa Association; Lavender Society; Darb Hiking Trails and Walking Trips Association; Hail Agriculture Development Association; Yanbu Environmental Association; Rifaq Environment Association (Hail); Aghsan Environmental Association; and Pristine Future Environment Association.

The NCVC continues to promote collaboration and integration with various sectors to expand environmental awareness and advance sustainable environmental development objectives through knowledge exchange, coordination of community efforts, the implementation of joint outreach and community programs, and the launch of initiatives that strengthen environmental sustainability and support national efforts in this regard.
