National Center for Meteorology Issues Miqat Weather Bulletins to Aid Pilgrims

Makkah: The National Center for Meteorology has issued weather bulletins linked to specific miqat locations, serving pilgrims arriving in Makkah through border crossings and highways as part of its meteorological services for the Hajj season.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the bulletins provide forecasts that cover essential weather elements at miqat locations, such as maximum and minimum temperatures, wind direction, expected weather phenomena, chances of rainfall, and humidity levels. These bulletins are updated daily until all pilgrim arrivals through entry points are complete. This initiative aids in facilitating movement and allows pilgrims to select an appropriate time to enter Ihram and perform their rituals.

This initiative is part of the center's early preparations for Hajj, supported by an integrated system of modern technologies and qualified human and technical personnel. The effort aims to deliver accurate meteorological services that support relevant authorities and serve pilgrims, aligning with directives to ease the performance of rituals.

Additionally, the center is scheduled to conduct a specialized workshop on climate impact on Wednesday as part of its Hajj season activities. The workshop will convene relevant entities to review the climatic record of the holy sites, enhance operational readiness, support pilgrim safety, and improve the efficiency of seasonal preparations.
