Najran: The Alamiriah School in Najran is a significant historical landmark that symbolizes the region’s educational development.

According to Saudi Press Agency, established in 1362 AH next to the historic Emirate Palace in the Aba Al-Saud neighborhood, the school, later known as “Al-Saudia School,” features a mud building with four classrooms and a courtyard covering approximately 75 square meters. At its opening, it served six students and three teachers for 15 years.

The Heritage Commission rehabilitated the school as part of its national preservation program, focusing on maintaining its historical and architectural significance. This included documenting its condition, conducting structural assessments, and restoring it with traditional materials such as adobe, mud, and local stones. Ceilings were rebuilt with tamarisk wood and palm fronds, and walls were reinforced with gypsum and lime.

The commission involved local artisans to ensure the transfer of expertise while preparing the building for future cultural and tourism uses, thereby enhancing the preservation of urban heritage in Najran.
