Municipalities Ministry to Highlight Saudi Urban Success at World Urban Forum in Baku

Riyadh: The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing is participating in the 13th World Urban Forum, hosted in Baku, Azerbaijan, from May 17 to 22. Organized by UN-Habitat, the forum serves as a prominent global platform to discuss the future of cities, urban growth management, and sustainable development.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi delegation is headed by Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail, alongside an array of government representatives, international organizations, and global experts. The ministry will showcase the Kingdom's achievements in urban transformation, sustainable housing, and quality of life, highlighting national initiatives in integrated urban planning, smart city solutions, and the digital transformation of municipal services under Saudi Vision 2030.

Ministry spokesperson Mohammed Alrasasimah stated that this participation underscores the progress the Kingdom has achieved in housing and urban development while reinforcing its role in exchanging expertise and building international partnerships. Throughout the event, the Saudi delegation will engage in several ministerial and specialized dialogue sessions covering urban finance, governance, and infrastructure development.

The ministry is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with participating international entities to enhance cooperation, share innovative experiences, and develop strategies for building more efficient and sustainable urban environments capable of meeting future challenges.
