Municipalities Ministry Stresses Adherence to New Housing Safety Guidelines

Riyadh: The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing emphasized the importance of complying with the updated health and technical specifications guide for collective housing for individuals, stressing that facility owners are responsible for providing a safe living environment and strengthening emergency preparedness.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministry stated that safety begins with keeping evacuation routes and emergency exits clear, providing illuminated signage and backup lighting, ensuring emergency doors open easily from the inside, and maintaining fire alarm and suppression systems. It also stressed the importance of preventing improper storage and adhering to approved occupancy limits.

The ministry further highlighted the need for regular evacuation training, emergency drills, and awareness of basic firefighting equipment to enable a swift response during emergencies.

It affirmed that compliance with safety requirements is a shared responsibility that helps prevent accidents, reduce losses, and ensure a safe and sustainable shared living environment.
