Riyadh: The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has prepared over 4,500 volunteers through its regional municipalities to assist pilgrims during the Hajj season 1447 AH. This move is part of the ministry's efforts to enhance the readiness of the municipal volunteering system at essential locations and improve the efficiency of municipal services during the Hajj season.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the municipal volunteering system is part of a broader plan targeting more than 20,000 volunteers. These volunteers will assist in receiving pilgrims through land and air entry points, preparing municipal facilities, performing volunteer work at the holy sites, and supporting departure stages. Their tasks will include guidance, assistance, site support, and backing municipal teams.
The ministry emphasized that the municipal volunteering efforts are part of an integrated service system implemented by relevant entities during the Hajj season. This initiative is an extension of the care and attention given by the Saudi government to pilgrims, aiming to mobilize all capabilities to serve them from their arrival in the Kingdom until their departure.
