Riyadh: The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing continued its efforts to enhance the urban landscape and public spaces in 2025, delivering 294 new parks and implementing 252 urban interventions across cities in the Kingdom as part of a strategic plan to improve quality of life, strengthen the human dimension of cities, and achieve urban sustainability in line with Vision 2030.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministry stated that the efforts also included the rehabilitation of 132 existing parks, contributing to upgraded urban environments, increased per capita green spaces, enhanced efficiency of public facilities, and greater city attractiveness for residents and visitors.

In urban planning, three local plans and one regional plan were approved to guide urban growth within clear regulatory frameworks, promote optimal land use, and strengthen long-term planning efficiency. In the area of public health and environmental protection, more than 100 random waste dumps were closed, improving the urban landscape and reducing negative environmental impacts. In addition, 17 afforestation offices were established at the ministry's headquarters and regional secretariats to support increased vegetation cover and urban sustainability.
