Riyadh: The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing and New Murabba Development Company: one of the Public Investment Fund’s companies-signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at enhancing areas of collaboration in urban project development and aligning relevant targets, in a manner that contributes to achieving urban integration and improving quality of life, in accordance with approved regulations and instructions.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the memorandum was signed on behalf of both sides by Deputy Minister of Municipalities and Housing Ihab bin Ghazi Al-Hashani and Chief Executive Officer of New Murabba Development Company Michael Dyke.
The memorandum includes cooperation in studying the integration of urban land uses for major projects, aligning afforestation policies, sidewalk design standards, green spaces, and architectural identity, in a way that takes traffic safety requirements into account and reflects national directions for sustainable development. It also provides for benefiting from global best practices in developing city centers and infrastructure projects.
The release added that areas of cooperation further include the exchange of technical expertise in urban design, the adoption of technical and procedural manuals for construction and operational projects, in addition to implementing community participation programs and initiatives that serve project residents and neighboring districts and enhance the participation of various segments of society.
The memorandum also includes cooperation in qualifying real estate developers and contractors, raising the efficiency of real estate development activities, reviewing modern construction technologies and the suitability of their application, as well as supporting initiatives related to real estate technology (PropTech), contributing to enhanced sustainability at the New Murabba destination.
Both sides affirmed that the memorandum of cooperation represents a supportive step toward integrating efforts among relevant entities in the field of urban development and contributes to achieving the objectives of sustainable urban development.
