Moderate to Heavy Thunderstorms Expected Across Several Regions in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: The National Center for Meteorology has forecasted moderate to heavy thunderstorms for Sunday, which may result in flash floods in various regions of Saudi Arabia. Areas expected to be affected include Eastern, Northern Borders, Hail, Qassim, Riyadh, Madinah, Makkah, Al-Baha, Aseer, and Jazan. These storms are anticipated to be accompanied by hail and dust-stirring winds, with fog possibly forming in some parts.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the weather conditions over the Red Sea will see northwesterly to westerly winds in the northern and central parts, with speeds ranging from 10-28 km/h. In the southern part, winds will shift to southeasterly to southerly, reaching speeds of 12-50 km/h. Waves in the Red Sea are expected to range from half a meter to two and a half meters, with the sea conditions varying from calm to choppy.

In the Arabian Gulf, northwesterly to northeasterly winds will prevail in the northern part at speeds of 10-32 km/h, while the central and southern parts will experience northerly to northeasterly winds at speeds of 15-45 km/h. Waves in the Arabian Gulf may reach from half a meter to over two meters, with the sea anticipated to be calm to choppy.
