Ministry of Islamic Affairs Celebrates Quran and Sunnah Competition Winners in Senegal

Dakar: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance organized today the closing ceremony honoring the winners of the second Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Competition for Memorizing the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah in Africa. The competition was held in Senegal, with the participation of 100 contestants representing 53 African countries, in a distinguished atmosphere of faith reflecting the status of the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah in the hearts of Muslims.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the ceremony took place at the Grand National Theater in Dakar. It was attended by Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh, via video conference, along with several ambassadors from Arab and Islamic countries accredited to Senegal, heads of universities and Islamic associations, and heads of missions from participating countries.

In his address, Dr. Al Alsheikh emphasized that this competition reflects the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' continued commitment to the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah through support for local and international competitions. He noted that this dedication underscores the Kingdom's longstanding mission of serving the Holy Quran and the Prophet's Sunnah, while promoting the principles of moderation and balance.

The ceremony featured a range of segments, including visual presentations highlighting the Kingdom's efforts in serving the two primary sources of Islam, as well as distinguished Quranic recitations by participants. The event concluded with the honoring of the winners, who received prizes totaling more than SAR2.1 million.
