Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani affirmed, today, Wednesday, while receiving a high-level delegation from the Saudi Ministry of Energy, his welcome to cooperation, partnership and investment with the Kingdom to develop the oil and energy sector.
A statement by the Ministry of Oil said, "Abdul-Ghani received Assistant Minister of Energy for Oil and Gas Affairs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Ibrahim, and the accompanying delegation, which included a number of officials and advisors in the Ministry of Energy and Saudi Aramco."
The statement added, "The Minister of Oil assured the delegation of the government and the Ministry's keenness to enhance opportunities for bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all fields, including the oil and energy sectors," noting that "this meeting comes as a continuation of the results of the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to the Kingdom and the desire of the two countries aim to develop bilateral relations and accelerate the conversion of joint projects into actual practical implementation, in a way that serves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples.
Abdul-Ghani pointed out, "The distinguished relations between Iraq and the Kingdom are witnessing a great development, and Iraq welcomes Saudi companies to invest and participate in the development of oil and gas fields, refining, infrastructure, and others."
For his part, Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman Al-Brahim conveyed, according to the statement, “the greetings of the Minister of Energy, Abdulaziz bin Salman, and his desire to establish a number of bilateral cooperation projects between the two brotherly countries in the oil and energy sector, expressing his hope to reach an agreement on a number of projects in the near future.”
Undersecretary of the Ministry for Distribution Affairs, Ali Maarej, said, "The delegation of the Ministry of Energy and Saudi Aramco in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has seen the investment map in the oil and gas sector, where the head of the delegation expressed his country's desire to participate and enter into a number of investment projects in the oil and gas sector in Iraq, and they agreed to continue the dialogue during the next few days.
