Makkah: Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman Alfadley launched a state-of-the-art rain enhancement research aircraft, one of the most advanced of its kind globally. The aircraft will serve as a comprehensive atmospheric laboratory to measure weather elements and support studies related to cloud seeding operations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during the visit, the minister also inspected projects and programs of the National Aquaculture Group (NAQUA), reviewing its efforts to advance the aquaculture sector through the adoption of modern technologies and scientific methods. The activities took place as part of the minister's visit to Makkah Region to inspect projects implemented and supervised by entities under the environment, water and agriculture system, and to assess the level of services provided to beneficiaries. He was accompanied by a number of senior officials from the sector.
The minister further conducted a field tour of development projects implemented by the National Water Company in Makkah and the Holy Sites. He met with company officials to review readiness plans for the holy month of Ramadan and the Hajj season of 1447 AH, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring sustainable water distribution, improving supply reliability, and strengthening distribution control.
