Melbourne: The Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA KSA), led by its CEO and board member Abdullah Saleh Al-Shebeili, participated in the sixth round of the “From Riyadh to the World” initiative. This event was held on the sidelines of the National Internal Audit Conference in Melbourne, Australia, as part of ongoing efforts to showcase Saudi Arabia’s professional expertise in the oversight and internal auditing sectors.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the event saw participation from the executive leadership of the Institute of Internal Auditors in Australia, along with senior executives and professionals from major Australian government agencies and companies. The discussions highlighted various professional topics and successful experiences from Saudi Arabia, including innovative auditing approaches at Sadara Chemical Company. Additionally, a case study on digital transformation in internal auditing was presented, and the role of data analytics in revolutionizing internal auditing to align with strategic directions and strengthen auditing functions was discussed.
Abdullah Saleh Al-Shebeili emphasized that IIA KSA’s active participation in the conference underscores Saudi Arabia’s significant advancements in internal auditing and oversight. He remarked that the Saudi experience has become an international benchmark due to continuous regulatory development and adoption of best practices, which have enhanced institutional performance and reinforced governance principles. Al-Shebeili also highlighted that Saudi Arabia has successfully transformed its business environment, boosting institutional compliance and positioning itself among the leading countries in the field, with the support of wise leadership.
Al-Shebeili further noted that these achievements have led to the Institute of Internal Auditors ranking IIA KSA among the world’s top 10 professional associations. This recognition, he stated, underscores Saudi Arabia’s esteemed position in the sector. He reiterated IIA KSA’s commitment to enhancing the Kingdom’s presence in the global professional landscape through knowledge exchange with leading institutions, showcasing achievements that reflect Saudi Arabia’s dedication to sector development, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
