The king abdulaziz and his companions foundation for giftedness and creativity (mawhiba):he King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), in partnership with the Ministry of Education, has concluded an overseas training camp for the Saudi astronomy and space team in the Republic of Slovenia from August 16 to 29. The camp was part of a training program to prepare the team for the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA 2026), scheduled to be held in Vietnam.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the camp featured specialized training in astronomical observation, data analysis, and theoretical concepts, along with simulated Olympiad examinations and activities to strengthen scientific problem-solving skills. The students benefited from a specialized training environment in a location with minimal light pollution, enabling them to apply their astronomical observation skills under optimal conditions and to gain practical experience observing skies different from those in the Kingdom.
