Makkah’s Parks Combine Recreation and Environmental Preservation

Makkah: Wilderness parks in Makkah serve as a natural outlet and preferred destination for residents and visitors, offering diverse terrain that combines mountains, valleys, and vegetation. They contribute to enhancing quality of life and promoting environmental preservation, coinciding with World Environment Day, celebrated annually on June 5.

According to Saudi Press Agency, among the most prominent destinations are Wadi Al-Mughammas, characterized by its vast open spaces, Wadi Numan, known for its diverse natural features, and the Ayn Shams area, which draws visitors seeking tranquility away from the city.

Relevant authorities are implementing afforestation and vegetation development programs alongside awareness campaigns promoting positive environmental behaviors and protecting natural resources, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives of achieving sustainable development and promoting ecological balance.
