Makkah Development Authority and Tourism Ministry Sign MoU to Enhance Tourism Sector

Riyadh: The Makkah Development Authority and the Ministry of Tourism have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation and integration, focusing on the development of the tourism sector in the region. The agreement aims to improve the efficiency of planning and implementing joint initiatives and projects.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the MoU outlines collaboration in preparing studies to activate and rehabilitate tourism sites in the Makkah Region. This includes exchanging geospatial data and linking databases to contribute to urban planning and enhancing decision-making efficiency.

The areas of cooperation also extend to building national capabilities through joint training programs. The agreement emphasizes planning and developing the sector's workforce, implementing community and volunteer initiatives, supporting the non-profit tourism sector in the Makkah Region, and enhancing media cooperation to highlight the region's tourism potential.
