Madinah: The Madinah Regional Municipality has launched a signage regulation guide as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the urban landscape and strengthen the city's visual identity, establishing a unified regulatory and design framework for organizing commercial and informational signage in line with the city's architectural character.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the guide aims to balance functional and aesthetic aspects by defining standards for dimensions, locations, design, lighting, and content, improving clarity while preserving urban quality and enhancing the visual experience for residents and visitors.
It serves as a unified reference for shop owners, property developers, designers, manufacturers, and relevant authorities, outlining technical and regulatory requirements to ensure signage integrates harmoniously with architectural elements and local identity.
The guide also classifies urban zones and appropriate signage types for each area, along with lighting controls and technical specifications to reduce visual clutter and improve the urban environment.
The municipality stated that this initiative supports efforts to improve quality of life and aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
