Kuwait Condemns Iranian Attack on Saudi Tanker SIDR

Kuwait city: The State of Kuwait strongly condemned the Iranian attack targeting the Saudi tanker SIDR while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in fatalities among the tanker's crew. Kuwait described the attack as a flagrant violation of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2817 and a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies.

According to Saudi Press Agency, in a statement today, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for an immediate end to all acts of escalation. It stressed the need to uphold international law that guarantees freedom of navigation. It also reaffirmed Kuwait's firm rejection of any actions that threaten the security and safety of maritime navigation.

Kuwait reiterated its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and affirmed its support for all measures the Kingdom takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and interests.
