Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched a project yesterday to improve water services at the Marib General Hospital Authority in Yemen. Marib Governorate Undersecretary Dr. Abdrabuh Miftah and several officials attended the launch.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the project aims to provide the hospital with a safe, sustainable water supply and to meet the water needs of medical equipment and other medical uses. It includes drilling a new 180-meter-deep well, rehabilitating the existing well, constructing a pump room, installing a pump, building a 50-cubic-meter elevated concrete water tank, and rehabilitating the existing tank.

The project also includes two 55-kilovolt solar power systems, a water desalination plant with a production capacity of 20,000 liters per hour, and a 1,114-meter water distribution network to ensure a sustainable water supply. More than 24,760 medical personnel, patients, staff members, and visitors will benefit from the project.

Undersecretary Dr. Miftah said the project, provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through KSrelief, represents a significant and sustainable addition to the hospital authority. He noted that it will meet the hospital's needs for clean, potable water and provide safe water for doctors, patients, and visitors, while improving healthcare services and the working environment.

He also praised KSrelief's humanitarian support, which has had a significant impact in alleviating suffering across Yemen, particularly among displaced people and host communities in Marib Governorate, through projects across various sectors that contribute to recovery and development and improve services for the Yemeni people.

These humanitarian and relief projects and programs, implemented by Saudi Arabia through KSrelief, are part of its efforts to improve living conditions and provide safe drinking water across Yemen's governorates, alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.
