Aden: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) successfully launched the 'Noor Saudi' volunteer project aimed at combating blindness and its causes in Aden, Yemen, from June 20 to 29, 2026, in collaboration with the Al-Basar International Foundation.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the volunteer medical team, during the campaign, delivered a variety of healthcare services to beneficiaries from the most vulnerable families. The services included 400 specialized cataract surgeries, utilizing both phacoemulsification (PHACO) and extracapsular cataract extraction (ECCE) techniques for both children and adults, all of which were successfully completed.

The medical team also performed comprehensive examinations for 1,566 individuals across different age groups. Additionally, medications were provided to these beneficiaries, and 1,000 prescription eyeglasses were distributed, significantly aiding in alleviating the beneficiaries' suffering.

This project forms a part of Saudi Arabia's broader humanitarian and relief initiatives conducted through KSrelief, aimed at supporting the healthcare sector and mitigating the plight of vulnerable and affected communities throughout Yemen's governorates.
