Damascus: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched five voluntary medical projects in Damascus, Syria, covering pediatric and adult neurosurgery, orthopedics and joint surgery, pediatric surgery, and cardiac catheterization. These initiatives are part of the Saudi Amal Volunteer Program, which aims to provide critical medical assistance to the Syrian people.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the projects are being carried out by a team of 50 volunteer medical professionals specializing in various fields.

Since the start of the campaign, the medical team has examined 83 patients and performed a range of surgical procedures. These include four neurosurgeries for both children and adults, six joint replacement surgeries involving seven joints, five pediatric surgeries, and 15 pediatric cardiac catheterizations-all of which were completed successfully.

This initiative is part of the Kingdom’s ongoing humanitarian efforts, through KSrelief, to support and enhance Syria’s healthcare sector.
