Al-Mahra: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has distributed school desks and educational materials to literacy and disability centers in Al-Mahra Governorate, Yemen. This initiative is part of the second phase of its local capacity development project, aimed at supporting the education of literacy students and individuals with disabilities in Yemen.

According to Saudi Press Agency, First Deputy Governor of Al-Mahra Mukhtar Al-Jaafari praised the generous support from Saudi Arabia through KSrelief, emphasizing that the advanced educational equipment provided to these centers will contribute to the development of literacy and disability education.

Meanwhile, Chairwoman of Al-Mahra Association for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities Khair Duwamah Yaqout stated that these educational tools will enhance information delivery, improve learning efficiency, and support teachers in performing their noble mission.

The project aims to provide quality and sustainable educational opportunities for targeted groups in the governorates of Aden, Hadhramaut, Al-Dhale, Lahij, Shabwah, and Al-Mahra, benefiting a total of 9,747 individuals, including 6,527 individuals with disabilities, 2,389 literacy students, and 831 teaching staff across the designated centers and schools.

This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian efforts through KSrelief, addressing key challenges in Yemen’s education sector, supporting children with disabilities, and promoting literacy programs to ensure their effective integration into society.
