Damascus: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has concluded several voluntary medical projects in Damascus, Syria, offering specialized surgeries across various fields. These projects, part of the Saudi Voluntary Program for Syrians (AMAL), ran from May 9 to 18, 2025.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the projects encompassed pediatric and adult cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization, general surgery, pediatric surgery, deformity and plastic surgery, and specialized clinics.

During the campaign, Saudi volunteer medical teams provided a total of 3,232 services, benefiting 1,539 individuals (58% male, 42% female). Specifically, 675 services were delivered in specialized clinics, 38 pediatric cardiac catheterization surgeries were performed, and 87 adult cardiac catheterization surgeries were conducted. Additionally, 175 deformity and cosmetic surgeries were completed, along with 71 pediatric surgeries and two general surgeries. Diagnostic Radiology services totaled 519, while 428 laboratory tests were performed, and medications were dispensed to 1,237 patients.

These efforts are an extension of the voluntary medical projects and programs provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, to assist various disadvantaged and affected countries globally.
