KSrelief Celebrates World Refugee Day with Unique Activities at Zaatari Camp

Zaatari: The Saudi Community Service Center, affiliated with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), marked World Refugee Day, observed annually on June 20, at the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan, which hosts Syrian refugees.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the event featured a variety of educational and training programs designed to highlight the challenges faced by refugees and promote resilience and self-reliance. In the educational section, a silent play depicted the struggles of refugees in displacement camps, while students recited a poem reflecting the pain and hope of refugees. A puppet show was also presented, illustrating the aspirations of refugee children for a better future.

The training section included practical workshops that emphasized the importance of utilizing available resources. Recycling workshops were conducted by the sewing, arts, and embroidery departments, focusing on transforming fabrics and plastic bags into valuable products. Additionally, the cooking department organized a traditional tannour bread-making workshop, showcasing cultural heritage and the ability of people to adapt amidst adversity.

This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia's broader humanitarian efforts, facilitated through KSrelief, aimed at bolstering protection for refugees and displaced individuals globally.
