KSrelief Boosts Yemen Fisheries with 50 New Boats in Al-Mahrah

Al-mahrah: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed 50 fishing boats equipped with engines to fishermen in Yemen's Al-Mahrah Governorate. This initiative aims to support those affected by recent cyclones and floods in Huswain District, under the Sustainable Agriculture and Fisheries Empowerment Project designed to enhance resilience in Yemen.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Huswain District Director General Yasser Al-Assad praised KSrelief's efforts in supporting the fisheries sector. He emphasized that this assistance will enable fishermen to resume work and fulfill their needs after their boats were lost due to adverse weather conditions in the area.

The initiative plans to distribute a total of 90 fishing boats equipped with engines and 150 safety kits. This distribution targets 150 fishermen across the Hadhramaut, Al-Mahrah, and Socotra governorates, aiming to improve their livelihoods, create new income opportunities, and enable safer and more productive fishing trips.

This project highlights Saudi Arabia's commitment, through KSrelief, to applying best practices in supporting Yemen's fisheries sector. This sector is considered one of the most important economic areas, and the project seeks to provide essential assistance to the fishermen in the region.
