London: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office have signed a joint statement to provide $17.8 million in humanitarian aid to Yemen and Bangladesh. The agreement was finalized during the third Strategic Dialogue on International Development and Humanitarian Assistance between Saudi Arabia and the UK, held in London.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the agreement was signed by Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and KSrelief Supervisor General, and Baroness Jennifer Chapman, Minister of State for International Development and Africa at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Both parties will contribute $10 million, shared equally, to support a food security project in Yemen, in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP).
Additionally, $5 million, shared equally, will be allocated to a water and sanitation project for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration. Furthermore, $2.8 million, also shared equally, will support food security projects for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, working with the WFP and the Integrated Social Development Effort Bangladesh.
This initiative forms part of broader relief and humanitarian efforts by Saudi Arabia, through KSrelief, to assist those in need and provide support to refugees globally.
