Riyadh: King Saud University has launched an environmental initiative across Riyadh Region under the theme “Towards a Clean World.” The initiative aims to enhance the quality of life, raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection, and combat the adverse effects of pollution.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative, running through October 30, features a mix of field activities and awareness events designed to engage the community, inspire volunteerism, and promote environmental consciousness.

It includes the distribution of media messages, hands-on activities like waste collection, and cleanup efforts in parks and valleys. It also entails afforestation, with plans to plant over 1,000 trees across various locations to restore and rehabilitate local vegetation cover.
