Riyadh: The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language has unveiled a new digital toolkit under the theme “Proud of it,” in anticipation of World Arabic Language Day, celebrated annually on December 18. This initiative is designed to enhance the celebration of the Arabic language across public and private sectors, as well as among individuals, highlighting the support extended by the Kingdom and its leadership towards the Arabic language.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this effort is aligned with World Arabic Language Day, which was established by a UN General Assembly resolution on December 18, 1973, recognizing Arabic as one of the official working languages of the United Nations. The day aims to promote awareness about the rich history, culture, and evolution of the Arabic language through a series of specialized activities and events.
The digital toolkit introduced by the academy provides linguistic information and supportive ideas, contributing to the enhancement of Arabic language resources. It
seeks to honor the language, elevate its status, and support institutions and individuals engaged in the field of Arabic language, as the World Arabic Language Day approaches.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has chosen “Arabic Language and AI – Advancing Innovation While Preserving Cultural Heritage” as the theme for this year’s World Arabic Language Day. The occasion serves as a steadfast platform to reinforce the cultural and historical significance of the Arabic language.
