King Salman Chairs Riyadh Cabinet Session with Focus on Regional Peace and Scientific Achievements

Riyadh: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held in Riyadh today. The session addressed various diplomatic and developmental initiatives, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering regional stability and scientific progress.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Cabinet reviewed messages exchanged between Saudi leaders and their counterparts, including communications with King Mohammed VI of Morocco and King Abdullah II of Jordan. The discussions emphasized the importance of the recent Sharm El-Sheikh Summit for Peace, highlighting efforts towards a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and an immediate ceasefire in Sudan. The Cabinet also called for the implementation of the Jeddah Declaration.

Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary, in a statement following the session, noted the Cabinet’s review of developments in joint committees between Saudi Arabia and other nations, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations. The Cabinet celebrated the success of the 25th Scientific Forum for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit Research, recognizing its contributions to improving pilgrim services.

The Cabinet further discussed the MENA Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network’s role in combating corruption and money laundering. Additionally, congratulations were extended to Saudi scientist Omar Yaghi for winning the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, an achievement reflecting the Kingdom’s support for research and innovation.

Several decisions were issued, including approvals and authorizations related to international cooperation in energy, water, tourism, statistics, research, prosecution, and e-learning. These initiatives aim to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s partnerships and promote mutual interests with other countries.
